MMS 2020 Midway Edition is the second edition of MMS in 2020. This edition runs just three days instead of four and will be held in San Diego instead of Minneapolis. If you can't make it to our May event, this one may be the one for you. If you're considering other conferences, MMS is likely to be the most technical you'll find.
This slightly smaller MMS maintains most of the great things that make MMS special:
You can, but that's not the intent. MMS will always provide fresh content at each event, however as the conferences are five months apart, you can expect some overlap in content from May to October (more than you would get annually). If you can attend only one event, it should be the full 4-day MMS in May. But if that is already full or you had a scheduling conflict, then this 3-day Midway Edition should help keep you current with IT changes as well as to make sure you are networking with peers and great speakers.
Here is what MMS 2019 sessions looked like. Based on a recent attendee survey for wanted sessions, Midway session topics will be:
If you're wondering if we'll have Cabana or Camping Sessions, the answer is we'll have Survival Sessions! Same idea.
The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina overlooks a private marina and is near numerous attractions, including Seaport Village, San Diego Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter, Petco Park and Balboa Park. Every hotel room and suite has impressive views of the city, San Diego Bay or the Pacific Ocean.
Note that you book your hotel using our code (doing so immediately after registration). You manage dates and your own confirmation code from the hotel.
As you register for MMS on Eventbrite, a popup window will appear displaying the hotel code for you to use to book your own room at the Marriott Marquis. You will also receive this code via email after you register (if you don't see it, check your spam filter). Use this code to book your hotel room. Don't delay!
When you register for MMS, we will send you a hotel code for you to use to book your own room. Your event registration includes a room for the nights of October 11th through the 14th. Your credit card will only be charged for incidentals, in addition to any additional nights you book.
Please book your hotel immediately after registering; failure to do so may mean that rooms are unavailable by the time you attempt to book. Booking hotel immediately also helps make sure that if you wish to add days, they'll be available. We expect many people to extend their stay and also expect the hotel to fill as a result. So don't delay!
The welcome reception is just a 15 minute walk from the hotel aboard the deck of the USS Midway Museum (who happens to also be the official charity of MMS Midway Edition). It's just a couple more minutes if you take the prettier walk along the waterfront where you can walk by Seaport Villiage. And if you exit out through the pool to get there, it's even shorter. You can also Uber or grab an electric scooter or bike (they're all over San Diego).
Our welcome reception has plenty of space (it's an aircraft carrier!), so feel free to bring your spouse\partner\significant other. You'll get 2 drink tickets, but we also will have a cash bar. Beer, wine, and appetizers will be served.
